This software is used for environmental assessment in Hydrology, Biohydrology, and water resource management. It is presently used by about one hundred hydrologists, representing government departments, universities, and conservation organizations in five countries. The IHA software has proven effective in measuring the impact of dams on streams across the world. This has grave effects on the reproductive cycles of many plants and animals downstream, as well as on the structure of the river channel.
